CGC has the highest level of certification (DTMR-GE3) from the Queensland Government for geotechnical engineering. Our principal engineers are all RPEQ Certified and Australian Chartered Engineers. CGC is ISO 9001 accredited, reflecting our excellence in standards and systems.

David is a Chartered Engineer with over 20 years of industry experience primarily spanning geotechnical and tunneling engineering. David has key experience on multi- disciplinary infrastructure projects including highways, railways and bridges, tunnels, hydroelectric and power generation/ transmission, water supply, flood retention systems and building foundations.

Director - Principal Engineering Geologist

Barry is a Chartered Engineer/Engineering Geologist with over 20 years of experience in the geotechnical field. He has extensive experience in geotechnical design leadership and risk management for complex transport infrastructure projects such as the Ipswich Motorway Upgrade Project (D2G), Tugun Bypass and Toowoomba Second Range Crossing.

Director - Principal Geotechnical Engineer

Ian is a Chartered Engineer with over 15 years of experience in the field of geotechnical engineering. He has been involved on projects involving local and state government, highways, urban developments, telecommunication towers, renewable energy, mine remediation and dams across Australia, Asia and the Pacific region.


A social enterprise is a trading, commercial business that prioritises social goals. CGC was certified as a social enterprise by Social Traders in July 2019. Our mission is to create stronger foundations, both in our community and through our geotechnical engineering work. CGC’s social purpose is to improve the learning opportunities for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

CGC has partnered with two high schools in the Logan area (south west Brisbane) and the Pyjama Foundation. We invest time, money, expertise and skills to assist these organisations break down the educational barriers that many of the young people in their care face. Examples of our investments and initiatives include: setting up and facilitating schools mentoring programs, regular STEM based interactive workshops at schools, improving access for students by purchasing over 65 devices for schools and funding the roll out of a 'Time & Money' game for all 1400 Pyjama Angels across Australia. 



CGC has the highest level of DTMR qualification for geotechnical engineering and is a member of the Queensland State Government Engineering Consultant Scheme:
